Bimetallic relays consisting of two heterogeneous metals with different coefficients of longitudinal expansion, which due to the passage of excessive current, the length of one metal is longer than the other, so the two metals bend together. This motion is transmitted directly or by levers to the contact and disconnects or connects the circuit. In all industrial and construction electrical systems, control circuits of electrical devices, air and ground electrical networks, transformers, electric motors, generators, audio and video devices and…

To prevent damage and defective equipment as well as disconnected defective devices from the network due to various factors such as insulation failure, poor electrical or mechanical endurance and excessive increase in allowable instantaneous current (short circuit) and permanent (overload) and even Excessive current reduction (unloading of electric motors and starting of single-phase and three-phase motors) Electrical control and protection devices are used.

Electronic Bimetal:

Relays are made in two types of thermal or electronic: in the thermal type, the time delay and the operation of the relay according to the generated heat are obtained in a special thermal element, and in electronic bimetal, the time delay according to the electronic circuits and charge and The capacitor discharge is adjusted and in high power motors and high pressure motors, electronic overload relays are used which operate more accurately and reliably.

The central rack device can reduce the power consumption of refrigerators and freezers by up to 40% in some cases. In large food stores (hypermarkets) with a high number of refrigerators and freezers, the use of a central rack device can be strongly recommended. .

Freon central rack system can have more equipment than conventional condensing units, including the following:

Schneider Bimetall performance

In industrial installations, it is necessary for the motor to be automatically disconnected or reconnected, and the contactor is provided according to the type of load. In order to automatically shut off the motors in case of overheating of the motor body due to overload, thermal relays (bimetallic) or magnetic thermal relays are placed in the circuit.

Bimetal Schneider or Bimetal Schneider relay is used to protect the electric motor against overload and is connected to the contactor. Schneider’s function is that if too much current passes through the regulated current on the bi-metal, it acts and cuts off the flow path. In fact, the relay is equipped with a thermal element, and when the nominal load current is established, the element temperature is within acceptable limits (typically 40 ° C). If the current increases to more than the nominal value and heat is generated in the heating element, the temperature exceeds the relay setting value and the relay operates.

Types of electric Schneider Schneider

The accuracy and sensitivity of non-metals that are made in different factories are different. Therefore, each manufacturer has a characteristic curve for each bimetal produced

They provide a separate cut, which in sensitive systems must be selected exactly using the bimetal cut characteristic curve of the respective company.

Bimetals are divided into three categories in terms of performance after circuit breaker:

1_ Manual (Hand or Manual)

2_ Auto Bimetal (Auto)

3_ Manual and automatic bimetal

Schneider Electric Bimetallic Range Range:

D-series bimetal current range 0.16 to 150 amps

Bi-metal F series current range 60 to 630 amps

A standard bimetal must meet the following conditions:

1) It should not interrupt the circuit at rated load.

2) If the passing current is 5% more than the set current set on bimetal, it must cut off the circuit for more than 2 hours.

3) If the passing current is set to 20% more than the current, it must cut off the circuit in less than two hours.

4) Overload of more than 50% should disconnect the protection switch in less than two minutes.

5) If the current passing through the bi-metal is set to 6 times the current (starting the asynchronous motor), it must cut off the protection switch in normal start-up time of more than 2 seconds and in hard start-up time of more than 5 seconds. In three phases, if there is an increase in current in one phase, it causes the corresponding bimetal to heat up and bend, which causes the three phases to be cut off at the same time.
To protect the motor against overload, the heat cut-off current must be equal to the rated current of the motor. Bimetal relay usually does not return to normal after disconnection. After checking to work normally, we press the red or blue button that is installed on it, this button is called (RESET). In some bimetal relays, there is MAN and AUT mode, which returns to the initial state after a while by placing the lever on Auto, after the bimetal operation. The following figure shows the components of Bimetall Schneider.

Relays are used from all angles and take two. It goes from two to one packages and two packages, and two dozen bottles of bi-metal closes, and the packages go away.

Contacts 95 and 96 are placed in the command path to the contactor coil and in series to cut off the contactor current when added. Contacts 97 and 98 are used to display the performance of bimetals, for example, by turning on a signal lamp.

The difference between fuse and bimetal

The fuse operates faster against short circuits than bimetals.

The fuse is not adjustable while the bimetal is adjustable.

Both protect the circuit, but the fuse protects the consumer against high current and short circuit, while bimetal protects the consumer against possible overload.
